All-on-6 Dental Implants
All-on-6 is a dental procedure that is used to reconstruct a person’s mouth when they have lost a significant number of teeth in one or both jaws. This process allows an individual the option to replace all of their teeth with six natural-looking and feeling dental implants. All-on-6 implants typically do not require bone grafting, so they are the perfect solution for patients that have low bone density or volume in their jaw.
Benefits of All-on-6:
- Quick recovery
- Enjoy eating and speaking again
- Pearly white smile
- No need for removable dentures
How long does it take?
The entire procedure can be completed in just a few hours!
Before the Procedure:
Though all on 6 typically does not require a bone graft, it may be required depending on one’s bone density. No one mouth is the same, so it’s important for your dentist to thoroughly evaluate your mouth before beginning the procedure.
During the Procedure:
With the use of local anesthetic, dental implants are placed into the jawbone. Provisional prosthesis can then be attached to the implants while they heal. Once the implants have healed, a permanent solution such as a dental bridge or removable over denture will be secured to the implants. That’s it!
After the Procedure:
Post procedure care
In the first 3 months following the procedure, the mouth will be healing and the bone and gums are changing shape to adapt to the new fixture. During this time, patients should exercise caution in eating hard or very chewy foods.
Patients should expect some discomfort and swelling after the procedure. For majority of patients, the most discomfort subsides after a week.
